Meeting Information
Meets at 1 p.m. on the third Thursday of January, April, July, and October
Haywood County Health and Human Services, 157 Paragon Parkway, Clyde. (Note: meeting format may be affected by COVID safety concerns.)
Overview
Region A functions as the administrator of a state and federal block grant for aging adult services. The Haywood County Home and Community Care Block Grant and Aging Planning Committee serves as the advisory board for the planning, coordination and distribution of these block grant funds among providers who deliver services and programs for aging adults in Haywood County.
Membership
While providers of services for aging adults make up the majority of the committee membership, there are five public seats on the committee. The public seats are the only positions appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
Vacancies in public seats are posted to the Haywood County website and distributed to the publication sunshine list as they occur. Region A representatives review applications and make appointment recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.
