Meeting Information
The Child Fatality Prevention and Community Child Protection Teams meet no less often that once per quarter and often enough to allow adequate review of cases identified by the state for review.
Child Fatality Prevention and Community Child Protection Team meetings are not open to the public due to the confidential nature of the records under review.
Overview
The roles of the Child Fatality Prevention and Community Child Protection Teams are defined by NC GS 7B-1406 through 7B-1413.
Membership
Positions on the team are dictated by statutory authorities.
The Board of County Commissioners appoint the following members:
Law enforcement
EMS or firefighter
Parent of child who died before the age of 18
Up to five additional optional members representing county agencies or the community at large
A variety of other authorities appoint the remaining team members, as defined in NC GS 7B-1407.
