Code Enforcement

Ordinance Overview

Environmental Health works in conjunction with the Planning Department and the Sheriff’s Office to enforce Chapter 159: Public Health and Solid Waste Awareness and Compliance.

This ordinance applies to unincorporated areas of the county to address public health concerns involving the accumulation of trash. The ordinance also addresses objects that hold water (creating breeding areas for mosquitoes), and rodent harborages. The goal of the ordinance is to achieve voluntary compliance, but occasionally it is necessary to take violators to court.
