Child Support Enforcement Services are available to anyone who is responsible for a child when there is a non-custodial parent, regardless of income. Child Support Enforcement’s five major functions are:
- Collection and Distribution of Support
- Enforcement of Support Obligations
- Establishing Paternity for Children Born Outside of Marriage
- Establishing a Support Order
- Locating Non-Custodial Parents
Child Support Enforcement must abide by Federal and State laws and regulations in handing child support cases. The goal of the Child Support Enforcement Program is to ensure that children receive financial support from parents. To this end, the agency strives to work with all involved parties to provide information, reach solutions to problems and take appropriate actions.
