  7. Leave the Leaves

    November 15, 2022, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
    @
    Waynesville Library

Join Balsam Mountain Trust as we learn to leave the leaves in fall. Removing leaves eliminates vital wildlife habitats. Critters ranging from turtles and toads to birds, mammals and invertebrates rely on leaf litter for food, shelter and nesting material. Many moth and butterfly caterpillars overwinter in fallen leaves before emerging in spring. So don't rake and leave the leaves! This program is suited for children of all ages. For more information, please call Lisa at 828.356.2511 or email lisa.hartzell@haywoodcountync.gov.
