Placing Holds & Borrowing Materials at the Haywood Locker

Place items on hold and pick them up at the Haywood Locker at Lakeside Plaza, 157 Paragon Parkway between Health & Human Services and Tractor Supply.

Select Haywood Locker when placing holds online or call the Waynesville branch at 828-452-5169 for assistance.

  • Place your hold with Haywood Locker as the pickup location
  • When your items are ready to pick up, you will receive an email check out receipt  
  • Items can be picked up any time after 12pm on the day you receive your email check out receipt
  • Bring your library card to scan the barcode to open your locker OR you may type in your PIN
  • Return your items to the drop box beside the locker or at any HCPL branch

Note: You MUST register your email address on your library account to receive email check out slips to use this service. Items will be checked out to you when we send the email that they are ready for pickup; pick up items as soon as possible to take advantage of your full loan period. Multiple items may be assigned to multiple lockers - each locker will open when you scan your library card or type in your PIN. Pick up is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Lockers expire 7 days after being loaded; items not picked up will be returned to the library.

Returning Materials

Return library materials to the walk up drop box at Lakeside Plaza, located next to the locker or at any library branch. Materials returned at the locker are transported back to the library for processing on a regular schedule, and will not be removed from your account immediately. Return books according to the following schedule to avoid library fines:

  • If materials are due Monday - Friday, return them before 12pm on the due date.
