The Haywood County Solid Waste Management Program operates 10 collection "convenience" centers, a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), and the White Oak Landfill (WOLF) through two public-private partnerships.
The convenience centers and the MRF are managed by Consolidated Waste Services.
The WOLF is managed by Republic Services (formerly Santek Environmental Services).
The 10 collection convenience centers collect household waste plus recyclables. The collection centers are staffed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residential solid waste is accepted at each center in compactors.
