Hit the Books!
with the Asheville Tourists and Haywood County Public Libraries!

Asheville Toursists Logo Haywood County Public Library has another summer reading program with great prizes from area businesses and with the assistance of the Asheville Tourists Minor League Baseball Team. Come by your local library and pick up a Hit the Books score sheet. Read books and score base hits and great incentives. Read three books to make it to first base and win a free child’s admission to the Asheville Tourists game on Sunday, July 20, at 2:00 p.m. Read another three books and your second base prize is a free child’s admission to the Health Adventure in Asheville. You reach third base after reading nine books and you can bring your score sheet to Jude’s Coffee and Creamery for a free ice cream cone. The home base prize is a free round of carpet golf at Maggie Valley Carpet Golf—all you have to do is read twelve books this summer. Finally, bring your completed score sheet with you to the Tourists game on Sunday, July 20, and register for a chance to win the grand prize: admission for four to Ghost Town in the Sky.

After a parent (or librarian) approves the base, the child may then present their “Hit the Books” form to that location to claim their prize.
Discount coupons for the July 20th game will be available for families, employees of the library, and visitors to the library.

Participating children must bring their “Hit the Books” form to the game to be eligible for prize drawings at Tourists game on July 20th.
